INTRODUCTION

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the BTEKWorld website located at www.btekworld.com and any business transactions conducted with Business Technologies World (Pvt) Ltd. By accessing our website, submitting a quote request, placing an order or engaging with our services in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or engage our services.

Business Technologies World (Pvt) Ltd, trading as BTEKWorld, is a private limited company incorporated and operating in Sri Lanka. We are a business-to-business supplier of RFID, Barcode, Biometric and related technology hardware and solutions. Our registered office is located at No. 21/7, 1/1, Sunethradevi Road, Kohuwala, Nugegoda, Sri Lanka.

PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

BTEKWorld operates as a business-to-business technology hardware supplier. We supply, install and support RFID readers and tags, barcode scanners, barcode printers, mobile computers, labels and ribbons, biometric time attendance devices, access control systems, face recognition terminals, ID card printers and related accessories and consumables.

All products listed on our website or presented in quotations are subject to availability at the time of order confirmation. We reserve the right to withdraw, modify or substitute any product without prior notice, particularly where a product has been discontinued by the manufacturer or is temporarily out of stock.

Product images shown on our website are for illustrative purposes only. Actual products may vary slightly in appearance from images displayed. Product specifications are provided in good faith based on manufacturer data and are subject to change without notice.

QUOTATIONS AND PRICING

All prices communicated by BTEKWorld, whether on our website, via email, WhatsApp or verbally, are quoted in Sri Lankan Rupees unless otherwise stated and are exclusive of applicable taxes unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Quotations provided by BTEKWorld are valid for a period of 14 calendar days from the date of issue unless a different validity period is stated in writing on the quotation document. After this period, prices may be subject to revision due to currency fluctuations, supplier price changes or other market factors.

BTEKWorld reserves the right to revise pricing at any time prior to the acceptance of a formal purchase order. Prices on our website are indicative and may not reflect current pricing. Please request a formal quotation for accurate and up-to-date pricing.

Prices do not include delivery charges, installation fees or software licensing costs unless these are explicitly included in the quotation. These will be clearly itemised in your formal quotation where applicable.

ORDERS AND ACCEPTANCE

A binding contract between BTEKWorld and the customer is formed only when BTEKWorld issues a written order confirmation or proforma invoice and the customer confirms acceptance in writing, whether by email, purchase order or written acknowledgement.

Submission of a quote request through our website does not constitute a purchase order or create any obligation on the part of BTEKWorld to supply goods at any particular price or timeframe.

BTEKWorld reserves the right to decline or cancel any order at our discretion, including where stock is unavailable, pricing errors have occurred, or where we are unable to verify the legitimacy of the order.

For first-time customers or large orders, BTEKWorld may require full or partial payment in advance before processing the order. Payment terms will be clearly communicated in the proforma invoice or quotation.

PAYMENT TERMS

Payment terms applicable to each transaction will be stated in the respective quotation or proforma invoice. Standard payment terms for new customers are full payment in advance unless a credit facility has been established by prior written agreement.

For customers with an approved credit account, payment is due within the number of days stated in the invoice, typically 30 days from the invoice date. BTEKWorld reserves the right to charge interest on overdue amounts and to suspend or cancel future orders where payment obligations are not met.

Accepted payment methods include bank transfer to our designated company account and any other method communicated in writing by BTEKWorld at the time of invoicing.

DELIVERY

BTEKWorld will make reasonable efforts to deliver goods within the timeframe communicated at the time of order. Delivery timelines provided are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to importation timelines, courier capacity, supplier lead times or circumstances beyond our control.

Risk of loss or damage to goods passes to the customer upon delivery to the address specified in the order. For goods delivered by courier, risk passes upon handover to the courier company.

Delivery charges, where applicable, will be communicated in the quotation or proforma invoice. Deliveries are made within Sri Lanka only unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Upon receipt of goods, the customer is responsible for inspecting the delivery and reporting any visible damage, shortages or discrepancies to BTEKWorld within 48 hours of receipt. Claims made after this period may not be accepted.

INSTALLATION SERVICES

Where installation services are included in the quotation or separately agreed, BTEKWorld will assign qualified technical personnel to carry out the installation at the agreed site. The customer is responsible for providing a safe working environment, appropriate access to required areas, electrical connections where needed, and any necessary permissions or approvals from building management or relevant authorities.

BTEKWorld will not be liable for delays caused by the customer’s failure to prepare the installation site as reasonably required, or for any damage caused by factors outside our control including pre-existing electrical faults, structural deficiencies or third-party interference.

PRODUCT WARRANTY

All hardware products supplied by BTEKWorld carry the manufacturer’s warranty as provided by the respective brand. Warranty periods vary by product and brand and will be communicated at the time of sale. Warranty coverage is subject to the terms and conditions set by the manufacturer.

Manufacturer warranty typically covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and does not cover damage resulting from misuse, physical damage, unauthorised modification, use in conditions outside the specified operating range, or damage caused by power surges or improper electrical supply.

To make a warranty claim, the customer must contact BTEKWorld with proof of purchase and a description of the defect. BTEKWorld will liaise with the manufacturer on the customer’s behalf and facilitate repair or replacement in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty policy.

BTEKWorld’s role in warranty claims is limited to facilitation. We are not liable for the outcome of manufacturer warranty decisions or for delays in the manufacturer’s repair or replacement process.

RETURNS AND REFUNDS

Returns will only be accepted where the product is found to be defective upon delivery, the incorrect product has been supplied, or the product is materially different from what was agreed in the order confirmation.

Returns must be requested within 7 calendar days of delivery and must be accompanied by the original invoice and original packaging where possible. Products that have been opened, installed, used or modified are not eligible for return unless they are found to be defective.

Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within 14 business days of the approved return being received and inspected by BTEKWorld. Refunds will be issued via bank transfer to the account provided by the customer.

Custom orders, special import items, software licences and consumables such as labels and ribbons are non-returnable and non-refundable unless they are found to be defective on delivery.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

BTEKWorld’s total liability to the customer in connection with any order or service, whether arising in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise, shall not exceed the total amount paid by the customer for the specific goods or services in respect of which the liability arises.

BTEKWorld shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from the supply or use of our products or services, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of business, loss of data, business interruption or any other economic loss, even if BTEKWorld has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by BTEKWorld’s negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content on the BTEKWorld website, including text, images, logos, product descriptions, graphics and software, is the property of Business Technologies World (Pvt) Ltd or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify or use any content from our website without our prior written consent.

Product names, brand names and trademarks displayed on our website remain the property of their respective owners. Their display on our website does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by those brand owners beyond our authorised reseller status.

WEBSITE USE

You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict or inhibit their use of the website. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our website or its underlying systems, introduce any malicious code or disruptive material, or use automated tools to scrape or harvest data from our website.

BTEKWorld makes reasonable efforts to keep the website accurate and up to date but does not guarantee that all information on the website is complete, accurate or current at all times. We reserve the right to modify or remove website content at any time without notice.

FORCE MAJEURE

BTEKWorld shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms and Conditions where such failure or delay is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. This includes but is not limited to natural disasters, acts of government or regulatory authority, import restrictions, port delays, strikes, pandemics, power failures, or failures of third-party suppliers or logistics providers.

In such circumstances, BTEKWorld will notify the customer as soon as reasonably practicable and will make reasonable efforts to fulfil its obligations as soon as the circumstances allow.

GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.

In the event of a dispute, the parties agree to first attempt to resolve the matter through good faith negotiation before commencing any formal legal proceedings.

AMENDMENTS

BTEKWorld reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be published on our website with a revised effective date. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically. Your continued use of our website or engagement with our services following any amendments constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
